Very good. I really hope you all succeed in this.

There is one aspect of this dataretention i have not seen. How does big companies react, will they start to move servers and "sensitive" development personel out of europe cause of this? I am pretty shure they do kommunicate a lot of things they do not want goverment, or any outside of the company, to get their hands on. They are even bound by law to keep some financial data secret until public publishing from the financial markets.

Read the "IBM and the Holocaust" book to understand what has been done with data.

Today's systems, such as like google's data-warehouses, are much more powerful.

Key point:
IBM technology was used to organize nearly everything in Nazi Europe, from the identification of the Jews in censuses, registrations, and ancestral tracing programs to the running of railroads and organizing of concentration camp slave labor.
