About Lt. Alan Kearney
Alan Kearney is a PhD student with Maynooth University Dept of History. His research is focused on the use of the ‘small bomb’, the Improvised Explosive Device (IED). He has almost thirty years of military service and is a serving military officer. He has extensive overseas experience and is an SME with regard to weapons, explosives, counter-terrorism and CBRNe defence; this includes the delivery of specialist training to both military, Police and various state and NGOs in both national and international environments. He is a long standing contributor to EDA-led policy and training initiatives and more recent Horizon 2020 security section proposals.
