Digital Rights Ireland has accepted a mandate from individuals in relation to the leaking of personal data from the Facebook website; this data was recently made available to the public.
The individuals’ names, facebook IDs, and phone numbers were amongst the data in the breach.
DRI has now filed a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ireland on the individuals’ behalf.
DRI is also consulting with its legal advisors on other options including a mass action for damages in the Irish Courts.
